Glenbard South School Counseling

Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Student Pre-Registration

Families of incoming freshmen and transfer students who do not attend a Glenbard feeder school must complete the pre-registration process before course selection can begin. This process ensures we have the necessary documentation to enroll your student and prepare for their transition to Glenbard South High School.

Please follow the Pre-Registration Steps for detailed instructions. After pre-registration is approved, families will receive the information needed to begin the official course registration process.

Schedule Change Requests

We understand that extenuating circumstances occasionally necessitate a schedule change after the school year begins. To proceed:

Important deadlines

  • Requests must be submitted by the end of Week 10 of the semester.
  • Drops must be finalized in Powerschool by the start of Week 12 of the semester.
  • For the 2026-27 school year, this means:
    • Semester 1: Request deadline – October 21, 2026 | Final drop deadline – November 2, 2026
    • Semester 2: Request deadline – March 24, 2027 | Final drop deadline – April 5, 2027

After these dates, schedules will remain fixed for the remainder of the semester.

  • Elective course policy—no swapping out for a different elective, only a drop for study hall
Once the school year begins, students may not switch between electives. Students may, however, drop an elective in exchange for a study hall. Each student is limited to one study hall per semester.
  • Consultation is required
Before submitting a request, students must discuss the situation with both their teacher and a parent.
  • Submit via Google form
All schedule change requests must be submitted using this linked Google form. Requests are reviewed in the order received and are subject to class availability. Note that modifying one course may impact the overall sequence of your schedule.
  • Continue attending current classes
Students must continue to attend and fully participate in their current classes until they receive official confirmation of the change and an updated schedule.
  • Follow-up with your counselor
When necessary, please follow up via email directly with your school counselor to ensure the change is processed properly.
