Basketball rules and regulations will be followed with the following exceptions:
1. Bench decorum rules must be demonstrated by summer league coaches.
- The first violation of this rule will result in a written warning from the league supervisor.
- The second violation of this rule will cause the dismissal of that summer league coach from the league.
2. Coaches and summer league coaches are responsible for the behavior of their spectators.
3. 11 game schedule. (1 game tournament). League champion determined by tournament outcome.
4. 2 officials and 1 scorekeeper provided per game.
5. All participants must be presently enrolled in your team’s high school to be eligible.
6. All games are played at Glenbard South High School
7. All teams are required to provide shirts that are uniform in color. Numbers and names are not needed on the shirts.
8. NO LOCKER ROOM FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE
9. Each game will consist of two-20 minute halves. The clock will continuously run except for the last minute of 1st half and the last two minutes of the 2nd half.
10. Half time break is 5 minutes.
11. Three timeouts will be allowed per team per game. No timeouts will be given during an overtime period.
12. Individual scoring and fouls will not be kept.
13. On a shooting foul that results in a missed basket and occurs within the first 18 minutes of the half, the shooting team will be awarded one point and possession of the ball. If a shooting foul occurs within the last 2 minutes of the half, the shooting team will be awarded two free throws.
14. On a shooting foul that occurs anytime during the half and results in a made basket, the shooting team will be awarded one free throw.
15. On the 8th team foul of the half, the shooting team will be awarded 1 point and possession of the ball if the foul occurs within the first 18 minutes of the half. If the foul occurs within the last minute of the first half or last 2 minutes of the second half, the shooting team will be awarded the one and one free throw or the double bonus if at 10 team fouls
16. Substitutions can only be made during a dead ball situation, not on the run.
17. All technical fouls will result in 2 points and possession of ball awarded to the shooting team.
18. In case of a tie, there will be a 2-minute overtime period, beginning with a jump ball. A second overtime period will result in a 1 minute time period.
19. A FORFEIT will be called if a team does not have 4 players to begin the game by ten minutes after the scheduled time of the game.
20. A forfeited game will result in the loss of the $50.00 forfeit fee.
21. The Butterfield Park District will NOT assume liability for any injuries. Each individual is responsible for her own liability and/or medical insurance.
22. EACH TEAM MUST TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF POLICING THE AREA AROUND THEIR BENCH AT THE CONCLUSION OF THEIR GAME.
